ÒCOPY, PASTE, RETURNÓ
This project is a response to questions of replication and originality and is
inspired by Hamburg artist, Lutz Kruger and his piece, Galerie Nomadenoase. I
experienced this replica of the gallery inside the Golden Pudel Club while
visiting Miami in 2005. I was so affected by it that I had to see the original.
After a visit to The Golden Pudel Club in 2007 where I took a banal photo of
the gallery, I decided to respond with a photo-based installation that would
remark on the idea of collapsing time and space. It is a philosophical piece
that intends to examine the possible degeneration and contamination of history
through further and further reproduction. ÒCopy, Paste, ReturnÓ is a continuing
work and will develop further once the photos are returned to the US.
